Tonight on this special editions of Perspectives Daily, I had a chance to sit and talk to a Canadian legend in the TV New business.
He is chief correspondent for CBC News, and the anchor of CBC Television's flagship nightly newscast, The National. He has a name everyone knows, and the the voice that everyone recognizes.
His reputation has been synonymous with the calm, clear and factual reporting, of the world’s greatest news events for the past 5 decades.
In fact, it’s been said that, Peter Mansbridge has been paramount to making CBC News the most trusted brand in news in the country.
At our new offices, Peter reflected back at his 50 years in news broadcasting and spoke to me about, was the most memorable & emotional catholic event he covered for CBC and what he thought was the most significant contribution of the Catholic Church to Canada.
Peter also shared a memorable Fr.Rosica story and how their friendship and trust grew over the many years.
